Milestone Morris Minor on offer at Historics’ Spring Sale

Historics has revealed that it will be offering the one millionth Morris Minor produced at its first sale of 2015; and if you want to see it before then it’ll be on display at the London Classic Car Show from 8 to 11 January.

The 55-year-old car rolled off the assembly line in Cowley, Oxford on 22 December 1960 sporting special lilac paint and a white leather interior. It was raffled off on live TV to raise money for the British Red Cross, and spent its first decade in Wales.

The current vendor purchased it in 1971 and kept it for 20 years before paying £15,000 for a professional restoration.

Today the landmark Minor retains its original registration number as well as its commemorative Morris Minor 1,000,000 chromed boot badge. It is fitted with a 948cc four-cylinder engine.

One of around 130 cars on offer at the Historics Spring Sale, the Morris is expected to sell for £22,000-£28,000.
