RM,
RM Auctions’ journey to becoming 'the world’s largest auction house for investment-quality vehicles' began in 1976 when Rob Myers set up a restoration and repair business in a single garage in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.
While RM Auto Restoration has gone on to garner laurels at the world’s most prestigious concours events, including five Pebble Beach Best of Shows, the auction arm, which was founded in 1991, has evolved into one of the world’s leading international collector car auction houses. The company formed a partnership with Sotheby’s in February 2015, with Sotheby’s acquiring a 25% ownership interest in the collector car auction house.

The international expansion came about in 2006 with the formation of the European Division, headed by Max Girardo in London. The first UK sale was held in London in 2007 and it became an annual fixture. Since then, RM Auctions’ transactions have featured large in the ever-growing list of top prices achieved at auction.
In 2010 the company broadened its reach with the formation of Auctions America, specialising in American classics, European sportscars, Detroit muscle, customs and hot rods. Single owner collection and estate auction sales are also a key part of RM Auctions’ business.
